Pamber End, Hampshire RG26 5QS
Sunday 24 September 2017, 3pm
Andrew Benson-Wilson specializes in the performance of early organ music. His playing is informed by experience of historic organs and an understanding of period performance techniques.
Andrew’s concerts have ranged from the 1642 Festorgel organ in Klosterneburg Abbey, the 1562 Ebert organ in the Innsbruck Hofkirche, and the 1723 ‘Bach’ organ in Störmthall, Leipzig, to a 1668 chamber organ in a medieval castle in Croatia. Organists’ Review referred to him as “a player of authority”. According to one reviewer, his St John’s, Smith Square recital was “one of the most rewarding organ recitals heard in London in years, an enthralling experience”.
